Why are we in Libya it doesn't make any sense?

I mean really why the hell are we ini Libya, it cost so far 550 million. There's a recession going on in America but, we could afford to spend money on a country that isin't going to affect the American people at all. Only about 3% of our oil comes from Libya so why are they making it seem like most of our oil comes from Libya. Also why should we even try interfereing with the Libyan people. It's like a person getting into a fight with another person, than they come bringing about 10 other people to help them out.
